Remember remember the end of Movember
It seemed they wanted us to forget. The G&Ts were four for $20 and the bar was free-flow for the mo-ed from 10:30. Here in the cold light of the morning after, however, the evidence persists:
…although who knows what stylings tomorrow will bring.
Mrs ExpatDadSG is, as we speak, finding a place for her Miss Movember sash, having impressed the judges with her safari hat. The two of them nearly scooped Best Dressed Team as well, but were beaten, in the end, by the Jetstar Team.
I did my best to fit in:
…and even managed to pull together a fine Safari Dance, featuring moves such as Hunt The Tiger, Hike The Jungle, and my personal favourite: Is That A Long Snake? Yes It Is.
…which proves rather conclusively that we need to get out more. Or not at all, I’ll take votes.
But of course the real winner in Movember is Men’s Health. Movember funds programs for Prostate and Testicular Cancer and Men’s Mental Health. Their slogan says, “Knowledge is power, prevention is everything, early detection is key!” and a letter recently posted on the Movember Singapore Facebook Page certainly drives the point home:
Thanks to those who donated this Movember – either to us or elsewhere.
And stay healthy. As long as you can.
You can see the recent evolution of A’s facial hair in these bearded before shots from late October, and these fresh-faced ones from the first of November.

What fun! My husband is a high school teacher and he participates in Movember every year. What was funny this year is that a student (who couldn’t technically enter the teacher’s contest) grew a much better mustache than any of the teachers!

It was definitely lots of fun. Maybe I’ll keep working on my dance moves 😉 .

I am, of course, impressed with your ‘stache. It may be thin, but it has style.

Hm, maybe I shouldn’t be too gung ho on the Charlie Chaplain then? The trend could come through in either form?

The moustache, a hither-to underutilised accent to the outfit of the discerning woman…..

The discerning woman, and also me. Although actually, after seeing another at the party, I feel a more Charlie Chaplain look will be at the leading edge of the trend. Remember, you heard it here first!

So P hasn’t fallen in love with his handlebar and decided to keep it? You looked very Poiret! (as in the detective). A great night for sure and I think you should get out more 🙂

I’m not sure what A (you’re getting the names mixed up like I do – I end up calling them “the older one” and “the younger one”) is planning, but I think the general idea is that *some* facial hair is staying, but maybe not as much as before.
I like Poiret better than Dirty Sanchez, which is what someone else called me…
Two votes for getting out more! It’s the will of the people 🙂 .

Sorry, I always get names muddled!

Nothing to be sorry about (like I said, I get the two of them mixed up at home – and that’s using the full versions rather than the more forgettable initials). 🙂

The guys seemed pretty chuffed with their mo’s, but I think a few of their significant others are preparing to put their feet down as soon as November ends.
You never know with fashion, though…

Good mo’s and my 2 yo signed up to go dancing with you next time because he “knows the moves” too 😀

Ooh, but can he do “spot the elephant” or “rain is coming”? I have a few moves left, you know! Bring it on! 😀

One vote for ‘get out more’ – I’m tallying it up.
Not sure I’ll persist with my moustache, though. People kept staring. 🙂

Yes a very good cause. It’s nice to hear personally (in that letter) from someone who benefitted, too.
