Tumpat

Who Went? One 4yo, one 18mo, mum and dad.

Review: Nice, relaxing holiday off the beaten track. The kids loved sleeping on the train and the destination was quiet and laid back. Reminded me of our family caravan park trips. Train trip allowed some acclimatisation although the older one was in a weird mood and also made liberal use of the option to retreat to the cabin.

Highlights: Sleeper train, roti prata at the stall by the station, bumming around and eating BBQ corn on the beach, paddle boating, canoeing.

Challenges: A lot of rubbish on the beach. Train was pretty late on the outbound leg and the kids started to get bored towards end of journey. The caravan park vibe wouldn’t suit those who prefer resort-style holidays, but it suited us just fine. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the cabin, though, and we hadn’t yet cottoned on to the idea of a mosquito net, so that was a pain to deal with – lesson learnt.

Price Bracket: Low
